Our Pledge
In the heart of the Amazon, where the rhythm of nature beats and local communities struggle, we at Truly Nuts! made a pledge: GO WILD FOR GOOD!™. Our journey, rooted in health and wealth, has always been about more than just snacks. It's about the Earth, the breath of the rainforest, and the vibrant communities that call it home.
As part of our pledge, we commit to:
Quality & Community First
We pledge to always champion win-win-win strategies, putting the empowerment of communities and the pursuit of quality at the forefront of all we do.
Donating 25% of Our Profits
We're donating 25% of our profits to projects that support our planet, including local communities in the Amazon where we are fuelling reforestation and ensuring the rainforest thrives for generations to come.
Empowering Our Team:
We pledge to pay our factory workers above market rate and never on minimum salary, ensuring they lead a prosperous life.
Championing Gender Equality:
We're committed to having at least 50% of our workforce as women, celebrating the strength of diversity.
Investing in Local Education and Well-being:
We're dedicated to offering free workshops, ensuring access to healthcare, and creating opportunities for career advancement.
Our Truly Nuts!™ Rainforest Project
Drum roll, please... Introducing our first partner in this wild journey: One Tree Planted.
In collaboration with One Tree Planted, we're ecstatic to unveil the Truly Nuts!™ Rainforest initiative, located near our facility in Puerto Maldonado. Here's how we're turning our Go Wild for Good!™ pledge into tangible action:
1 Million Trees and Growing
Our inaugural goal is to plant 1 million trees with an ambition for 1000 hectares of reforestation. To demonstrate our commitment to this goal, we are supporting a reforestation project in 4 native communities in the Huánuco and Loreto regions of Peru.
Empowering Local Communities
The project we are supporting will uplift approximately 1,500 families over three years through sustainable agroforestry and forest management, in harmony with indigenous organisations FECONAPIA and FECONAU.
Reviving the Land
By introducing cacao agroforestry systems and designated forest areas, this project is rejuvenating the soil and providing families with a sustainable income source. These restoration areas will prioritise lands with minimal coverage.
Biodiversity and Ecosystem Equilibrium
Our commitment to supporting reforestation will bolster biodiversity conservation, alleviate pressure on standing forests, and maintain a harmonious ecosystem. The trees we plant will enrich the soil, support local wildlife, and provide traditional medicinal and fruit species for the communities.
Protecting Precious Wildlife
The planting areas serve as buffer zones for the Cordillera Azul National Park and El Sira Communal Reserve, sanctuaries for endangered species like the Tapir, Jaguar, and Harpy Eagle.
Economic and Social Impact
Over the next three years, this project will offer a lifeline to 1,500 families from native communities. The introduction of cocoa agroforestry systems will provide them with a consistent income and the potential for sustainable wood harvesting. Our planting partners anticipate the creation of nearly 6,000 temporary jobs, empowering the youth and women of these communities.
